Weekly Schedule

MONDAY (8/24)- Labe write-up, LAB: "Introduction to the Microscope", complete lab Qs and conclusions.  Conclusions are to be completed at home if not done in class- due after 5 labs in the lab notebook

TUESDAY (8/25)- root words, discuss notes: Cellular organelles, structure, & function in the note outline sheet, view pwrpnt pictures of the cell, discuss analogies for the cell as a city

WEDNESDAY (8/26)-  complete cellular organelles notes, work on diagrams of the plant and animal cell to learn composition and structure of organelles, view video "Discovering the Cell" (20 min) while working

THURSDAY (8/27)- Begin cell organelle collage: find magazine pictures to represent both the structure and the function of 8 cellular organelles, include a sketch of the organelle and descriptions of the pictures

FRIDAY (8/28)- Continue to work on cellular organelle collage- due monday.  Collage is to be completed for homework if not done in class.  Wkst: "Animal Cell Structure" is also due on Monday, but students should begin in class

MONDAY (8/24)- discuss lab safety protocol, view lab safety videos

TUESDAY (8/25)- Take lab safety and safety symbols quiz, do lab equipment ID for specific microbiology lab equipment

WEDNESDAY (8/26)- LAB: "Ubiquity of Microbes", collect samples of soil bacteria, air bacteria, on/in bacteria, and bacteria on surfaces at MHS

THURSDAY (8/27)-  View lab results, complete lab report, report findings to people who inquired about them in MHS

FRIDAY (8/28)- notes/discussion: important Microbiology scientists and dates
