Advanced Placement Biology is a college level course. Students prepare for one year by writing free response essays and completing labs to take an Advanced Placement test in May.  Depending on the score, college credit may be given for biology. 

 A. P. Biology is one college year of biology taught in one high school year, unlike most A.P. classes that are one college semester taught in one high school year.  Therefore, it is possible to receive credit for 2 semesters of college biology.
