President Cele Eifert opened the meeting and welcomed everyone. Following introductions, Anne Houston gave the treasurer’s report.
Treasurer’s Report
Dues from the Freshmen Orientation and New Students Dinner brought in $7050 in August. The 2007-2008 budget was presented. Following a motion and a second, the budget was approved.
Principal’s Remarks
Principal Tracie Fleming reported that everything was going well. 1625 students were present on the first day of school. This year McIntosh has a new graduation coach, Sandy Perrin. The graduation rate for MHS last year was 95.9%. There is also a new program in place this year for a group of autistic students from Booth.
Committee Reports
Hospitality
Susie Burk reported that the Teacher Welcome Back Breakfast was a great success. The committee members are making plans for the PIE reception and holiday luncheon later in the year.
Spirit Wear
Cindy Robertson reported that the sale of spirit wear brought in $2200 at Freshmen Orientation and $300 at the new student dinner. The committee is still trying to use up about 100 logos and will be selling spirit wear at games.
School Store
Mel Duhon and Kim Wingo reported that the school store made $54 on the first day of school. They have spent $1200 on supplies to get the store up and running.
Appropriations
Reggie Cameron reported that the teacher wish list was handed out at the teacher breakfast and is due back by September 17th.
Fashionata
This committee still needs a chair.
Web-site
Don Riley is continuing on as chair.
Guidance
Nothing to report.
Front Office
All volunteer slots are full.
Landscaping
This committee still needs a chair. Also, there is $1000 in the school account for this committee.
Bulletin Board
This committee needs a chair.

Elementary Redistricting Process
The next meeting is August 16th at the FCBOE building. Cele Eifert is our representative.
Partners in Education
Plaque presentations are ongoing. This year we plan to do a yearbook ad honoring our partners.
Freshmen Orientation
Freshmen Orientation went well.
Teacher Welcome Breakfast
The breakfast for all staff was well received. Everyone appreciated the Wal-Mart cards.
Newcomers Dinner
The dinner went well with 200-300 people in attendance.
Cafeteria Helpers
Volunteers are needed to help with PINs for the students at lunchtime.
New Business
Committee Chairs
Chairs are still needed for the following committees: Bulletin Board, Fashionata, and Landscaping.
School Store
A parent scheduler is needed.
Directory
The directory will be sent to the printer by August 23rd and distributed on August 27th.
Partners in Education (PIE)
A yearbook ad picture needs to be done and submitted before the yearbook deadline (which is unknown at this time). An August 29th meeting is scheduled between the Fayette Chamber of Commerce and PIE representatives from the FCBOE in order to get organized for the new school year. The chamber is distributing a new brochure to businesses and schools about Partners in Education.
Nighttime Meeting
There was discussion about the feasibility of an evening meeting in the fall, perhaps with some type of college theme.
The next PTSO meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 11th at 10 am in room 202.
