Golf Cart & Path Safety
Cpl. Crider went over the basic rules of golf cart safety including correct operation, age and license requirements, and the problem of reckless driving. To report problems on the path system, one can call the regular dispatch number for the Peachtree City Police at 770-461-4357 (HELP). Cpl. Crider also addressed the issue of personal safety on the path system regarding recent attacks and robberies on children by older teenagers and/or adults. The key to safety is vigilance. Cpl. Crider’s talk was well received by the parents that were present. A recommendation was made to have Cpl. Crider address the student portion of the PTSO about this topic.
Other Business
It was brought up by a parent that there is no crosswalk in front of the school where kids and golf carts cross on a regular basis. The city needs to address this. A crosswalk used to be there prior to the repaving of the street.
The meeting in November will be for committee chairs only, in order to honor them for their volunteer work for the PTSO.
The meeting was adjourned.
Respectfully submitted,
Pat Cook, Secretary.
