MHS PTSO General Meeting 12-11-07
Following introductions, Assistant Principal, Dan Lane, reported that everything is going well.
 
Treasurer’s Report
For the month of November, the school store generated income of $1845 and spirit wear brought in $425.  Major expenses included $3200 for the student club purchase of the atomic clocks, $1359 for appropriations, and $1258 for the school store.  YTD our net income is $16,967.
 
Committee Reports
 
Hospitality
Teachers will receive the candy jars as an appreciation gift at the Dec. 21 breakfast.  (Note:  the gift jars were prepared and handed out early due to the fact that the teachers were given the 21st  off.  The breakfast was cancelled.)
 
Spirit Wear
Spirit wear needs to be sold at the basketball games.
 
School Store
Volunteers are working out well, and honey buns are selling like hot cakes.
 
Appropriations
There have been 36 teacher requests.  14 have been approved and granted.  There is about $2200 left to spend.  Regie Cameron will work with the student club to get this year’s request fulfilled.  Next year the student club’s purchase will come under appropriations.
 
Fashionata
Fashionata is scheduled for Feb 9th from 2-4.  Karie Houston has chairs for several areas including Talent and Publicity.  The theme is MTV:  McIntosh Totally Vogue.  It will be held at the MHS auditorium and consist of 5 acts, with Steve Cole and Lisa Fine as emcees.  The models will consist of 22 students and 12 teachers.  The rest of the PTSO students will help with host/hostessing, scenery, etc.  There will be 5 big silent auction items and door prizes throughout.  Note that a night meeting is required for the next meeting, if possible.

Landscaping
An Eagle boy scout is improving the walkway between the church and the school.

Old Business
 
FCBOE Redistricting
The workshop is this week. The board will vote on the plan for the new elementary lines on Dec. 17th.
 
Directory & Incentives
The directories were delivered.  Parents must pick up incentives.
 
PIE
The yearbook ad for our Partners in Education has been paid for and is in progress.
 
Next Year’s Slate
Pat Cook, Teresa Love, and Kim Wingo will work on presenting a slate for next year’s officers by the April meeting.
 
New Business
 
There is a need for a student leadership training session.
 
The next PTSO meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at 10 am in Room 202.
